At Life Recovery we offer therapy, assessment, consultation, coaching, and presentations in our specialty areas.
The bulk of our work is therapy. We meet with you, typically one on one, to talk about what’s happening in your life, what’s getting in the way, and help generate ideas on how to move forward. Though this is the bulk of conversation, there’s often a lot more that is happening in session. One of our main goals as therapists is to identify the areas you avoid engaging with and help you connect with those thoughts long enough to find a solution. Most of the time, you are the one with the answer but we are social beings and we need other people to support us in finding our solutions.
We see most people for most mental health issues. There are a few rare occasions where we are not qualified to help and will refer you to someone else, but otherwise we are happy to help. We do specialize in a few areas however. These are addictions, autism, and trauma. See our specialty page to learn more about each of these.
We also offer assessment services for people who might be on the autism spectrum. Assessment results are primarily used to receive services from the state, and possible your school or workplace. We use the ADI-R which is accepted by the state of Missouri for this purpose.
Life Recovery also focuses on providing services to rural communities in the state of Missouri. We recognize that it is difficult to find support when you are far from the urban areas. To help with this, we offer online telehealth therapy. Telehealth sessions are very similar to in person sessions, but you do it at your computer in your own home or wherever you choose to be. If this seems like an option you’re interested in, you can get more information here.
